Can you compare NMN to NR? or NMN vs NR

There is a lot of talk about how two of the most promising supplements to slow down aging are nicotinamide riboside (NR) and nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN).

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is derived from NR and NMN.

It follows that NAD+ is produced from NR and NMN.

The molecule NAD+ is highly significant because it affects our cells in various ways.

For example, it helps PARPs repair damaged DNA and allows sirtuins, enzymes that protect our DNA and control the epigenome, to function properly. In our cells, the amounts of NAD+ decrease with age.

The following are linked to low NAD+ levels: (R, R) An accelerated aging process that raises the risk of type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, fatty liver, and weight gain.

Currently, no research has directly compared the lifespan and health effects of NMN and NR. Nonetheless, NMN is superior to NR in the opinion of numerous aging experts and researchers. They cite a variety of justifications.

NMN IS ONE ACTION AHEAD

NMN is already one step further along the pathway to produce NAD+ than NR is.

The process from NR to NMN, which is then used to create NAD+, is the pathway that leads to NAD+: NR => NMN => NAD+. Therefore, NMN is one step down the NAD+ pathway. To form NMN, which is subsequently incorporated into NAD+, NR must first be phosphorylated. The molecule that makes sirtuins and PARP enzymes function is NAD+.

Studies appear to show that NMN has more notable effects

Upon reviewing all of the research conducted using NMN and NR, it appears that NMN facilitates more varied and potent effects than NR. The research conducted with NMN appears to be more noteworthy. For instance, 5-month-old mice given NMN for more than year displayed enhanced lipid metabolism and insulin sensitivity, as well as enhanced bone density, improved weight, enhanced mitochondrial and metabolic functioning, and more robust immune system (R). After receiving NMN for eight weeks, the vascular health of older mice was significantly improved, as evidenced, for instance, by reduction in arterial oxidative stress and stiffness (R). Giving aged mice NMN even has the potential to increase their fertility (R). Such improvements are more characteristic of NMN for wide range of aging-related symptoms and disorders.
